O.G. Reynolds

Hello. I'm OG

Hello. I’m O.G.!

Just checking in since it’s been a while since we have posted what we have been up to here at Forsyth Park Animal Hospital.  The biggest news we have a new addition, our clinic kitten O.G. Reynolds!  He was found a couple of months ago wandering the streets by a good Samaritan.  He got the name O.G. because when I (Felicia) first met him he was growling and grumpy.  Diedre and I agreed that Oscar the Grouch would suit him, but Dr. Metts and the people who found him were calling him Reynolds (the name of the street where he was found).  I suggested O.G. Reynolds which everyone thought was cute (especially Diedre who likes to say it means original gangster).  The Good Samaritans were going to try to find him a home or keep him, but we quickly realized that O.G. was no regular kitten and was displaying some strange symptoms.  After many test we discovered that O.G. has a Portosystemic Shunt (liver shunt), which means blood from his stomach, intestines, pancreas, and spleen bypasses the liver which filters toxins out of the blood stream.  We can’t adopt him out because of this condition and we have fallen in love with him so he’s here to stay. His condition is being managed with food and medication.  He has a few rough patches but his great moments far outnumber any bad ones.  His likes include: cuddling, chasing towels and sheets, making messes, playing with puppies his size or smaller.  His dislikes: any dog bigger then him, baths, being alone.  Keep checking here for updates in O.G and FPAH!

After working hard a kitten must play hard.

O.G. has a new pad! His promotion got him a fancy mouse bed complete with a scratching pad, two balls that hang down (that have some beads or something to make noise) and a tail to play with!
